Quality Metals from Westphalia
Heinrich Schneider NE-Metallurgie GmbH has operated a non-ferrous metal smelting plant at the Drolshagen-Berlinghausen site since 1968. Copper cast and copper alloys, including phosphor copper, silicon copper, and phosphor tin, as well as polishable block brass, special brass, and silicon tombac alloys, are produced in electric induction crucible furnaces. Phosphor copper press pins with diameters from 60 to 110 mm and cut lengths of approx. 100 to 1,200 mm are created on a wire casting system. Raw materials include primary raw materials such as copper cathodes, fine zinc, pure tin, and raw silicon, as well as cleanly pre-sorted secondary raw materials from metal recycling, including production residues from customers such as wires, stamping scrap, sheets, chips, and casting parts. Buyers include the non-ferrous semi-finished and fixture industry, mechanical and plant engineering, petrochemicals, vehicle manufacturing, and the copper solder and contact material industry domestically and internationally.

Raw Materials and Smelting Processes
Copper
Primary raw material copper cathodes of high quality; basis for copper cast and alloys.
Phosphor Copper
Deoxidizing agent and grain refiner, among others, for copper solders and the aluminum industry.
Silicon Copper
Increases the strength and corrosion resistance of copper semi-finished goods; Si contents 10, 15, and 20 %.
Phosphor Tin
Alloy approx. 95 % tin, approx. 5 % phosphorus for tin-based solders as grain refiner and flux.
Block Brass
Polishable fine-grain qualities in block form, primarily for the sanitary fixture industry.
Special Brass
Alloys with aluminum, manganese, nickel, or silicon for seawater and corrosion-resistant parts.
Silicon Tombac
Copper-zinc alloys with up to 5 % silicon.
Copper and Brass Scrap
Secondary raw materials such as granules, chips, stamping waste, and fixture scrap as input materials.

Quality Management
Incoming material is subjected to an incoming goods inspection with a test melt and is only released after passing. The in-house laboratory monitors the production process; every batch receives an analysis certificate for batch traceability.
