About Heinrich Schümann
Heinrich Schümann (GmbH & Co. KG) was founded in 1920 in Bargteheide and is today based at the Lübeck site (Geniner Straße 247 A). Originally established as a repair workshop for electrical machines and transformers, the company now develops and manufactures special machinery for electrical machine and transformer manufacturing. The product range comprises fishpaper coil winding machines, coil forming machines, insulation machines and insulation robots, bar bending machines, banding machines, coil winding machines as well as complete production lines for formed coils and bars – from individual machines to automated custom solutions. In addition, the company operates its own electrical machine workshop performing new and rewinding in VPI or Resin-Rich technology, the production of coil sets to sample and drawing, and the renewal of laminated cores, commutators and slip-ring assemblies. The main materials processed are copper (round and flat wire), steel wire, glass tape and VPI resin systems. The machines for the electrical industry are used worldwide; by 2020 more than 6,000 machines had been built, averaging 60 per year.
