About us
Heinz Lienhard AG is a Swiss family business founded in 1946 and now in its third generation, specializing in heat treatment and surface technology. The service portfolio comprises hardening and tempering, case hardening, carbonitriding, tempering, intermediate-stage tempering, nitrocarburizing, annealing (including annealing of soft magnetic iron), blackening, deep-freezing, shot and sand blasting, straightening, shrink-fitting and washing. For testing, hardness testing methods (HRC, HRA, HV, HB), measurement of coercive field strength and spectral analyses are available. The equipment fleet includes, among others, chamber furnaces from Ipsen and Thermic Service, hardening machines and belt furnaces from Borel, and a blackening machine from Sessler; workpieces up to 350 kg can be heat treated. The certified management system has been implemented since 1996 and is continuously updated. The company sources 100% of its electricity from renewable energies and maintains long-term business relationships with personal customer support.

Processes and Materials
Hardening and Tempering
Heat treatment of steel parts up to 350 kg, among others in the Ipsen TQ4 chamber furnace with oil quenching up to 1000 °C.
Case Hardening and Carbonitriding
Thermochemical treatment to increase surface hardness and wear resistance.
Tempering and Intermediate-Stage Tempering
Hardening and tempering to achieve defined strength and toughness values.
Nitrocarburizing
Nitriding treatment for wear and corrosion protection with minimal distortion.
Annealing incl. Soft Magnetic Iron
Annealing treatments, specifically also for optimizing the magnetic properties of soft magnetic iron.
Blackening
Surface conversion in the Sessler blackening drum (1100 x 500 x 600 mm) for corrosion protection.
Deep-Freezing
Cryogenic treatment down to −196 °C in the SGT/Sablux system for the transformation of retained austenite.
Shot and Sand Blasting
Blasting treatment on the MAE S25RH with 600 mm belt width for surface cleaning and strengthening.
