About us
Heinz Tummel GmbH & Co. KG is a family-owned slaughterhouse in Schöppingen in the Münsterland region and is one of the largest shipping slaughterhouses for pigs and sows in Germany. At the EC-approved slaughterhouse on Eggeroder Straße, up to 5,000 pigs are slaughtered per week; marketed are pig and sow half carcasses, piglets (suckling piglets and weaned pigs) as well as slaughter by-products such as liver, heart and tongue. Around 90 % of the animals come from within a 100 km radius, enabling short transport routes and seamless origin verification. On the company premises, the partner company Boeser Frischfleisch handles the cutting operations. The company works according to IFS Food V8, the QS inspection scheme, the HACCP concept, the EU organic label and ISO 50001, and supplies the meat industry, food retail, butchers and further-processing companies nationwide.
