Precision with economic standards
appel werkzeuge (Heinz W. Appel e.K.) is an owner-managed family business in its third generation, based in Recklinghausen, and has been manufacturing precision tools since 1974, in particular high-performance circular saw blades made of carbide, solid carbide, cermet and HSS high-speed steel. The product range includes carbide-tipped circular saw blades from Ø 80 to 1,400 mm, solid carbide (VHM) saw blades from Ø 15 to 300 mm in accordance with DIN 1837/1838/1840, HSS metal and HSS segmental circular saw blades as well as industrial knives, machine knives, press brake tools and special tools made to drawing. In addition, the company repairs and re-sharpens circular saw blades, press brake tools, spiral tools, drills and milling cutters entirely in-house. The tools are individually designed for the material, machine and application – including aluminium, copper, brass, steel, stainless steel, plastics as well as special and composite materials. On a production site of more than 3,500 m² with a modern machine park, production runs around the clock 365 days a year; customers come from automotive, aerospace, mechanical and plant engineering, shipbuilding, heavy industry and the trades.

Additional services
Quality assurance
Internal quality assurance includes regular calibration of measuring tools, solder joint and grind pattern inspections as well as inspection of individual teeth up to complete batches; production is stopped in the event of deviations. In-house designed optical measuring devices measure circular saw blades; damage analyses and documentation are part of the scope of services.
