HeiQ RAS AG in Regensburg is part of the Swiss HeiQ Group and was founded in 1995 by three chemists under the name Rent A Scientist (RAS AG). The company combines contract research and development, innovation services and technology transfer with the development and commercialization of advanced material technologies. Its services include joint material development under Joint Development Agreements, materials testing of physical, mechanical, chemical and biochemical properties, funding and grant management, and innovation networks linking science and industry. At the Regensburg site, the company develops among other things antimicrobial coatings and additives, spectrally selective coatings for signature, energy and climate management (HeiQ Xpectra), synbiotic and probiotic cleaning and textile formulations, and encapsulation systems. Its fields of activity cover textiles, polymers and biopolymers, specialty chemicals and microbial active ingredients; in addition, Regensburg serves as a pilot production site and central hub for joint material innovation within the HeiQ Group. The company is anchored in the Bavarian life sciences cluster around BioPark Regensburg and the University of Regensburg.
