Hela Gewürzwerk Hermann Laue GmbH, based in Ahrensburg (Schleswig-Holstein), develops and produces spice blends, spice ketchup, savoury sauces, seasoning oils and portion sachets. The range comprises over 4,000 spice blends and more than 8,000 products in total; around 1,500 blends were developed for sausage varieties alone. The product range is aimed at the food industry, butcher's trade, gastronomy and food retail, plus portion sachets for airline catering and foodservice. The main plant in Ahrensburg produces around 30,000 tonnes of ketchup per year. Hela is represented at eight locations, including Germany, the Netherlands, Canada, Brazil, Chile, China, Singapore and Australia, and supplies customers in over 65 countries. With central purchasing, coating technology for spices and its own pilot plant for product development, the company offers customised seasoning solutions and certified production.
