About Helecta
Helecta GmbH is a manufacturer of LED lighting solutions based in Bodenkirchen with its main plant in Tostedt near Hamburg, established in 2009 out of an engineering consultancy for energy-efficiency advisory services to municipalities. The company develops and produces LED retrofit lamps as HQL/NAV replacements for street lighting, complete LED streetlights (Economy2, Economy3), LED high-bay floodlights, LED floodlights as well as LED Light Engine Modules and retrofit kits for existing luminaires. Manufacturing includes in-house mechanical machining (CNC milling, turning, drilling, sawing), rapid prototyping via 3D printing, and electronics manufacturing with a PCB etching system, solder paste printer, pick-and-place machine and convection reflow oven. Materials used include shot-blasted aluminium housings and heat sinks, solid copper boards and heat pipes, as well as a special polymer for optics applications. In addition to its standard portfolio, Helecta offers contract development of hardware, software and optics from feasibility studies through prototypes to small series. Customers are primarily cities, municipalities and energy suppliers as well as industry.
