About Henschel Antriebstechnik
Henschel Antriebstechnik looks back on a long industrial tradition at the Kassel site: the company's roots lie in the Henschel & Sohn foundry founded in 1810, and gearbox production began in 1918 at the Kassel-Mittelfeld plant. Today the company manufactures industrial gearboxes that are used worldwide in the most diverse sectors and under the most exceptional conditions. The gearboxes are developed and produced as customised drive solutions, with manufacturing taking place at the parent plant in Kassel. Consistent quality and long-lasting gearbox performance are the company's focus. Early milestones in drive technology included the world's first superheated steam locomotive (1898) and the start of worm gearbox production under licence from David Brown Ltd. (1933).
