About Heraeus Covantics
Heraeus Covantics is the quartz glass division of the Heraeus Group, operationally consolidated since January 1, 2025, in which the expertise of Heraeus Conamic and Heraeus Comvance has been merged. The company produces high-purity quartz glass (fused silica), synthetic quartz glass, doped materials as well as ceramics and composites, and manufactures from these semi-finished products (ingots, plates, preforms, rods, tubes), complex system components and custom solutions. Processes include electric drawing of quartz glass tubes, Plasma Outside Deposition (POD) for fluorinated claddings, rare-earth and fluorine doping as well as shaping and machining of quartz glass. Customer industries include semiconductor manufacturing, photonics and optics, telecommunications, medical laser systems, material processing as well as aerospace. Production is distributed across plants in Germany (Hanau, Kleinostheim, Bitterfeld-Wolfen), USA, China, Korea and joint ventures in Japan, Taiwan, Singapore and Korea; sales are conducted worldwide.
