About Herbios
Herbios Vertikalgarten GmbH, based in Maria Anzbach (Lower Austria), develops and markets systems for vertical gardening: vertical beds and vertical gardens for balconies and terraces, climate terraces with shading and cooling functions as well as custom-made wall and seating gardens for companies, hotels and gastronomy. The beds feature a continuous soil body instead of small separate containers, offer large root space and are operated with a specially developed organic vertical bed soil with perlite. The structures are made of wood and metal; value creation takes place regionally with partners from domestic wood, metal, organic compost and perlite production. In addition, Herbios offers edible building greening with rainwater management for new buildings and renovations, technology-free vertical farming on building envelopes as well as automatic irrigation systems (e.g. built-in 80-liter water tank, drip irrigation, rain barrel connection). Reference projects are the Novotel Wien Hauptbahnhof (2020 and 2022) and the ESSBAR Wien project (2024).
