About Hero Tech Center Germany
Hero Tech Center Germany (HTCG) is the European development center of the Indian two-wheeler manufacturer Hero MotoCorp Limited and was founded in 2019 in Stephanskirchen (Upper Bavaria). The approximately 60-strong team of engineers, designers and electronics and cell chemistry specialists develops concept and production vehicles for the Indian and international market – from design engineering and advanced styling with clay modeling through to the electrification of its own EV hardware and battery designs. In Stephanskirchen, the first prototypes of newly developed parts are built and also tested there; the EV testing and prototype area was doubled in 2022. At the same time, the site is the home base of the international Hero MotoSports Team Rally in the Rally Raid sector, for which prototype parts are installed and parts and equipment are shipped ahead of FIM World Rally races. The Vida V1 e-scooter was developed jointly with the Center of Innovation and Technology in Jaipur and presented in October 2022. Since March 2025, HTCG has maintained an office at the Neue Balan Campus in Munich for the development of electric vehicles.
