Herrenknecht Vertical GmbH develops and manufactures automated drilling rigs and drilling equipment for deep drilling applications on land and offshore. The portfolio comprises hydraulic onshore rigs with hook loads of 170 to 750 tons based on two hoisting concepts (cylinder rigs with Super Singles or Doubles stroke as well as rack-and-pinion rigs with Super Singles stroke) and hydraulic offshore rigs with hook loads of 150 to 750 tons for well intervention, P&A and light drilling. In addition, rig components such as top drives, catwalks and pipe handling systems, rig modernizations and upgrades are offered. The range of services extends from feasibility and FEED studies through customized engineering, manufacturing, testing and commissioning to training, maintenance and spare parts management. The Schwanau site includes a 200-meter-deep in-house test well, a top drive test field and a mud pump test setup. The systems are deployed worldwide, among other things in deep geothermal energy, in oil and gas projects in Europe, Asia and Latin America, and in the southern North Sea; a drilling rig was developed and built for the Shell R&D campus near The Hague. The company, headquartered in Schwanau, is part of the Herrenknecht Group.
