About us

Herrmann Motorenentwicklung (HME) in Salzgitter is an owner-managed company for the development and testing of engines and complete vehicles. Power measurement is carried out on three stationary engine test benches for engines with 4 to 16 cylinders as well as on an all-wheel-drive apex roller dynamometer that covers outputs up to 1360 hp and speeds up to 400 km/h. The range of services includes neutral, independent inspection and commissioning of combustion, electric and hybrid powertrains, further engine development and calibration, the adaptation of freely programmable engine control units such as MoTeC, as well as engine assembly and installation in the vehicle. Another focus is the conversion of historical engines to modern ignition technology while keeping the external appearance unchanged. Customers include, among others, the development department of Bugatti, Motoren Zimmer, Vogt Engineering, Prickartz Consult and Eisenbrandt Engineering; projects range from historic racing cars to current super sports cars.
