Herrmann Ultraschalltechnik GmbH & Co. KG develops, produces and sells ultrasonic welding machines and joining systems at its Karlsbad-Ittersbach site. Using ultrasonic technology, plastics, nonwovens, packaging materials with thermoplastic sealing layers and non-ferrous metals are joined without additives, without screws and without an external heat source. The process is characterized by short cycle times, high process control and reproducible quality, and consumes around 75 % less energy in the energy balance compared with other thermal joining processes. In addition to its machine portfolio, the company offers application-related development through Herrmann Engineering, automation solutions with integration into robotics cells, and worldwide service via more than 20 Tech Centers, including commissioning, optimization, maintenance and training (Herrmann Academy). Ultrasonic technology is used in industries such as automotive, food packaging, hygiene, medical technology, electronics, battery, consumer goods and automation. Global support is provided in more than 20 countries.
