About Herrmannsdorfer Landwerkstätten
The Herrmannsdorfer Landwerkstätten are an organic enterprise founded in 1986 by Karl Ludwig Schweisfurth, covering arable farming, livestock breeding and the production and marketing of fresh foods. The operation is based on the former Herrmannsdorf manor farm, a district of Glonn in Upper Bavaria, and has been run in the third generation by Sophie Schweisfurth since 1 May 2018. The main site houses a warm-meat butchery, a bakery, a raw-milk cheese dairy and a brewery; waste from the stables is automatically fed into the farm's own biogas plant. With more than 200 employees, the company is one of the largest employers in the municipality of Glonn; numerous farmers from the surrounding area supply the company as contractors under contractual commitment to organic principles. A second site in Kerschlach (Upper Bavaria) has existed since November 2006. Distribution takes place via the company's own shops and bistros in Munich and the surrounding area as well as through partner retailers throughout Germany. The company is a member of the Biokreis association and operates according to its guidelines.
