About Herwig Bohrtechnik Schmalkalden GmbH

Herwig Bohrtechnik Schmalkalden GmbH is a family-run tool manufacturer based in Schmalkalden, Thuringia. The company produces carbide-tipped tools for the construction industry, including drills, core bits, SDS chisels, gouge chisels and grit tools, in series from 1 to 10,000 pieces. In addition, contract manufacturing delivers precise CNC turned and milled parts for the hydraulics industry, mechanical engineering and the automotive industry. The value chain includes CNC turning, CNC milling, cylindrical grinding, wire EDM, induction brazing in a protective gas atmosphere, surface treatment as well as 3D design, prototype construction and assembly. Materials include, among others, heat-treatable steels such as 42CrMo4, stainless steel, aluminium and POM. From consulting through design and functional testing to series production, custom special tools are developed as complete solutions; a focus lies on research and development, among other things in rescue technology.
