Natural lime building materials from our own production since 1881
Hessler Kalkwerke GmbH in Wiesloch is a fourth-generation family business that has been producing natural lime building materials from its own production since 1881. The company specialises in the manufacture of limes, plasters, mortars and paints – from natural lime base plaster through premium plasters, finishing plasters and tadelakt to casein and pit lime paints as well as lime-clay plasters with hemp. The binder natural hydraulic lime as well as limestone and quartz sands are extracted in the company's own quarry in Altwiesloch and processed at the plant into dry mortars with up to 90 % in-house production. The pure natural lime plasters are free of cement, gypsum, synthetic binders and preservatives as well as fully declared; since 2020 titanium dioxide has been omitted. Customers include the construction industry, monument preservation, biological-ecological building, agriculture (fertiliser lime) and the animal feed industry (feed lime). Products are continuously tested in the plant laboratory and by independent external monitoring (IQUH).

Company history
- 1881
Founded by the pharmacist Nikolaus Hessler at the Rot/Malsch location; first use of the self-burned Natural Hydraulic Lime on buildings in the region.
- 1940
Dr. Fritz Gramespacher acquires shares and later takes over the company completely; production relocates to Altwiesloch with new quarry premises.
- 1970
Decision to produce dry mortars in-house; since the mid-1970s HP 9 has been part of the product range as a pure lime plaster, from which the lime plaster system (HKS) was developed.
- 2020
Waiver of titanium dioxide in the natural lime plasters.
