About HIGHVOLT
HIGHVOLT Prüftechnik Dresden GmbH develops and manufactures high-voltage testing and measurement systems used to verify the reliability of electrical power supply equipment such as transformers, switchgear and power cables. The portfolio includes variable-frequency AC voltage test systems (WRV T, WRV O, WRVG G) for withstand voltage testing on AC and DC XLPE cables, GIS and interarray cables of offshore wind farms, DC voltage test systems (GP) up to 2000 kV in accordance with IEC 60060-2, impulse voltage test systems (IP) for lightning impulse voltages in accordance with IEC, and high-current test systems (HCTS) for heat run testing. The offering is complemented by accredited calibration services (including power, voltage, impulse current, capacitance and dissipation factor, partial discharge), an international testing service and a support system with remote support for test systems. Customers include transformer manufacturers, energy utilities, the cable industry, switchgear manufacturers and operators of offshore wind farms. The company is based as a GmbH in Dresden; the high-voltage test hall is located in Dresden-Übigau. HIGHVOLT is a member of the Reinhausen Group.

Test Methods and Measured Quantities
Variable-frequency AC voltage testing
Withstand voltage testing on AC and DC XLPE cables in the factory or after installation, 10–300 Hz in accordance with IEC 60840 and IEC 62067.
AC voltage testing offshore
Withstand voltage testing on interarray cables of offshore wind farms after installation, 10–300 Hz in accordance with IEC 63026.
AC voltage testing of GIS
Withstand voltage testing on GIS after on-site installation, 50–300 Hz.
DC voltage testing
Indoor and outdoor testing of systems and components of the power supply up to 2000 kV in accordance with IEC 60060-2.
Impulse voltage testing
Impulse voltage testing of transformers, cables, GIS, arresters and other high-voltage equipment with lightning impulse voltages (LI, 1.2/50 µs).
High-current testing
Heat run testing of components, usually cables, via a current induced in the test object.
Resonance testing, medium voltage
Mobile resonance testing of cables from 6 kV to 69 kV with up to 75 kV.
Accredited calibration
Calibration of the measured quantities power, voltage, impulse current, capacitance and dissipation factor as well as partial discharge.
