About himolla
himolla Polstermöbel GmbH manufactures upholstered furniture at its headquarters in Taufkirchen/Vils (Bavaria), including sofas, lounge landscapes, armchairs and relax furniture with integrated functions such as seat recline adjustment, relax function and rise assistance. Founded in 1948, the company is one of the largest upholstered furniture manufacturers in Europe and supplies exclusively the furniture retail trade. Production encompasses industrial series production of frames made from solid and laminated visible wood, processing of veneered wood-based panels, and upholstery with formaldehyde-free, VOC-free and CFC-free Superlastic moulded foams. More than 200 leathers (including cattle hides in various thicknesses) and over 600 fabrics are used as cover materials; woods are stained and lacquered on a water basis. An in-house testing laboratory tests cover fabrics, leather, foams, electrical components, fittings and frames, among other things with abrasion, compression and strength tests according to RAL-GZ 430. Since 1999 the company has had an environmental management system under the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme and DIN ISO 14001; since 2011 the entire collection has carried the Blue Angel (DE-UZ 117).
