About HKO
HKO is a manufacturer of technical textiles based in Oberhausen with over 50 years of company history. The company develops and produces mineral fibre textiles under the HAKOTHERM® brand, including needle felts, needle mats and stitch-bonded mats as well as technical woven and knit fabrics. These base products are further processed through finishes, laminations and converting into custom 2D die-cut parts and insulation solutions. The products serve thermal insulation, passive fire protection, noise reduction and filtration. Fields of application include automotive (combustion engines and EV battery fire protection), classical industry, marine, personal protective equipment, and hydrogen and energy storage technologies. An in-house laboratory and R&D enable co-development projects together with customers – from material to finishing. The materials are asbestos-free and contain no respirable fibres.
