About Hochschule Mainz

Hochschule Mainz is a University of Applied Sciences (HAW) of the state of Rhineland-Palatinate with the departments of Design, Engineering and Business and around 5,600 students. In addition to teaching, the university operates laboratories and workshops, which are also used for research projects, expert assessments and cooperation with companies. In the Concrete Technology Laboratory and the Structural Engineering Laboratory, material and component tests are carried out, including compression tests on concrete and rock, tensile and bending tests on steel and glass, hardness and Charpy impact tests on metals as well as building damage assessments. The testing infrastructure comprises universal testing machines from 10 kN to 5,000 kN, climate chambers, thermography and sound measurement devices as well as 3D metrology and photogrammetry. The workshops offer CNC milling machines, lathes, FDM 3D printers and woodworking equipment. The university offers companies cooperation in research, transfer, dual study programmes and testing services.
