HÖRMANN – KMT Kommunikations- und Meldetechnik GmbH, based in Salzburg, is the Austrian subsidiary of HÖRMANN Warnsysteme GmbH. Since the early 1990s, the company has developed and produced electronic sirens (ECN and ECI series), Remote Terminal Units (RTU) for controlling sensors, actuators and existing end devices, as well as mobile loudspeaker and siren systems (MOBELA 150 digital). The product range is complemented by control centre and dispatch centre technology, network components for radio and wired systems, wireless radio contact transmission systems (ICT434/868), digital siren controls (Phoenix), POCSAG transmitters for employee alerting and glare-free floodlight luminaires for helicopter landing pads (DWT-LED72). Manufacturing takes place in Salzburg workshops using 19-inch Eurocard technology; the housings and siren heads are made of weather-resistant aluminium, partly anodised, or impact-resistant polystyrene. In addition to production, the company provides system planning with sound propagation modelling, on-site installation (side wall, roof, mast), testing and acceptance, as well as maintenance and support services over the entire life cycle. Customers include municipalities, fire brigades, authorities with security responsibilities, industrial complexes and air rescue services, including the City of Vienna, the Fire Brigade of the State of Salzburg and the ÖAMTC Christophorus crew.
