About us
HÖRMANN Vehicle Engineering is a globally active engineering service provider headquartered in Chemnitz and part of the HÖRMANN Group. The company supports customers across the entire development process chain for rail, road and special vehicles – from concept design through mechanical and electrical development, software development for vehicle control systems (TCMS), calculation and simulation, RAMS and LCC, production planning and jig/tooling development to testing, commissioning and homologation management. Vehicles developed include locomotives, trams, local transit trains, double-deck and high-speed trains, as well as buses, commercial vehicles and motorcycles. More than 200 employees, most of them engineers, work in vehicle engineering. With certifications to EN 15085-2 (CL1), EN 17460 (adhesive bonding) and ISO 3834-2, the company is also qualified in welded and adhesively bonded design for rail vehicles. In addition to engineering services, HÖRMANN Vehicle Engineering carries out the design of production cells and operating equipment as well as the planning of production lines, including prototype and plant realization.
