The Hofmolkerei Bennewitz is a family business in the Torgau region (Saxony) that has been producing milk and dairy products since 1999. From the farm's own milk, cheese specialities, quark and butter are made according to artisanal tradition and old recipes. The products are made without preservatives, colorants, flavor enhancers, or any additives and flavorings. The value chain begins with the company's own production of feed for its dairy cows and extends through milk collection to processing in the on-farm dairy. Products are sold via the company's own farm shop in Bennewitz, at weekly markets around Torgau, and through retail. All work steps are monitored by IFTA Berlin according to the EU-certified standard DIN EN ISO 9001. The business was founded in 1991, traces its origins back to an LPG (agricultural production cooperative) from GDR times, and is run in its second generation by the Harzer siblings.
