Metal processing and finishing since 1909
HOGRI (Honer & Grimm GmbH & Co. KG) is a specialist in metal processing and surface finishing based in Spaichingen since 1909. The company grinds, polishes, mattes and brushes workpieces made of stainless steel, aluminium, brass and other metals – by hand, on polishing machines and with robotic polishing systems up to the highest surface quality of Mirror 8. The company's own electroplating department nickel-plates (bright, matte and semi-bright nickel), gold-plates and silver-plates visible and functional parts, complemented by cleaning, degreasing, powder coating and wet painting. Further core competencies are chipless forming technology, sheet metal cutting and the manufacture of precision-mechanical systems and assemblies; turned and milled parts are brokered and monitored as contract manufacturing through a vetted partner network. Customers come from mechanical engineering, automotive, sanitary engineering, luminaire manufacturing, medical technology, the watch and musical instrument industries as well as the electrical and jewellery industries. Long-standing references include Rolls-Royce, Audi, LAMY, HOHNER, Blanco Professional and Karl Storz Endoscopes. Production takes place at the headquarters in Spaichingen in Baden-Württemberg, from single pieces and small series to large-scale series.

Materials and processes
Stainless steel
Main material for grinding, polishing up to Mirror 8 and mattting, among others in medical technology, automotive and architecture.
Aluminium
Light metal for writing instruments, automotive and luminaire parts; polishing and mattting with controlled heat input.
Brass
Non-ferrous metal for musical instruments, fittings and decorative parts; grinding, polishing and electroplated post-treatment.
Steel
Base material for electroplated nickel-plating as corrosion and wear protection.
Copper
Base material for electroplated gold-plating and nickel-plating; for copper, a nickel layer is applied before gold-plating.
Titanium
Can be machined in the partner network for contract-turned and milled parts.
Bronze
Material for CNC-milled parts in the brokered contract manufacturing.
Nickel (plating)
Electroplated coating as bright, matte and semi-bright nickel for appearance and corrosion protection, as an intermediate layer for precious metals.
Silver (plating)
Electroplated coating for visible parts of the watch and jewellery industries as well as for electrical conductivity.
Gold (plating)
Soft and hard gold-plating for appearance, corrosion protection and electrical contacts.
Chrome (plating)
HOGRI performs the grinding and polishing work as a basis for subsequent chrome-plating.

Quality
Orders undergo a 100% visual inspection; in electroplating, electrolyte parameters such as pH value and metal content are continuously analysed and layer thickness and layer quality are monitored. Visible parts are exclusively electroplated on racks.
