About HSW

Hohenloher Schotterwerke GmbH & Co. KG (HSW), headquartered in Osterburken (Baden-Württemberg), operates the Wittighausen shell limestone quarry in Untermünkheim. In the associated crushing plant, road construction aggregates and concrete chippings to DIN EN 12620 are produced from Upper Muschelkalk. Further products include chippings for asphalt mixing plants and concrete plants to DIN EN 13043 and DIN 12260, mineral concrete, recycling products, masonry blocks and hydraulic engineering stone. Since 2004, a drum mixing plant has been used for the granulation of fertiliser lime for agriculture, and an air classifier provides de-dusted sand. The company also accepts soil material and excavated earth for recovery under VwV-Boden and ErsatzbaustoffV and operates an HGT plant for tested dry construction materials. Distribution has been handled since 1978 by the sister company HKS Haller Kalkstein GmbH & Co. Vertriebs KG in Schwäbisch Hall. Customers are found in road construction, civil engineering, the concrete and asphalt industries, hydraulic engineering and agriculture.
