Holcim (Deutschland) GmbH, headquartered in Hamburg, is a manufacturer of construction materials and part of the globally active Holcim Ltd. The company produces cements and special binders (Portland, blast furnace, Portland slag, Portland limestone, trass and recycling cements as well as slate blast furnace cement), extracts and processes aggregates such as sand, gravel, crushed stone, chippings, Glensanda granite, basalt lava and tuff at more than 30 sand and gravel pits, and manufactures ready-mix concrete in numerous variants including CO₂-reduced ECOPact, recycling and cement-free geopolymer concrete. Through VETRA Betonfertigteilwerke GmbH, filigree floor slabs, staircase systems and CPC carbon concrete elements are produced. Slag sand is produced in Salzgitter. In 2026, a pilot plant for CO₂ capture using membrane separation went into operation at the Höver cement plant, designed to separate up to 10,000 t of CO₂ per year (target approx. 90%). The group employs around 1,800 people at approximately 100 locations in Germany and the Netherlands. Customers include building construction, civil engineering and structural engineering, road and hydraulic engineering, coastal protection, logistics real estate and agricultural construction.
