About the Construction Material Recycling Center Sprockhövel

Holcim Recycling und Baustoffe GmbH operates a construction material recycling yard with a processing plant in Sprockhövel. Customers such as building owners, construction and road construction companies as well as renovators deliver mineral construction waste there, including demolition waste from concrete and mortar, bricks, ceramics, asphalt demolition, soil and stones, excavated material, track ballast and gypsum-based construction waste. In the processing plant, the delivered materials are crushed, sorted and classified by grain size; contaminants such as wood, plastic, metals or paper are specifically separated. From these materials, quality-monitored recycled construction materials and recycled aggregates are produced, which are subject to strict quality controls and are used in road construction, civil engineering, landscaping and increasingly as aggregates for concrete production. In addition, natural aggregates such as Rhine gravel, Rhine sands, grit and tested topsoil are offered. If recovery is not possible, proper and environmentally sound disposal takes place.
