About Holz-Henkel
Holz-Henkel is a family business founded in 1888, based in Göttingen, combining a planing mill, timber trade, timber import and export. In its own planing mill, profiled timber, planed boards, frame timbers, decking boards, façade profiles and sauna woods are manufactured on six planing lines; in 2022 this amounted to more than 560 different items. The raw material processed is predominantly sawn timber from the Nordic countries of Europe, in particular spruce, red cedar, hemlock, silver fir, Douglas fir and larch. In addition to the planing mill, the product range includes sawn timber, imported timber, wood-based materials such as OSB, laminated timber and plywood panels, as well as surface treatment of wood products. Via the subsidiary Euroline GmbH & Co. KG, 25.000 t of wood briquettes made from planing shavings and residual wood are produced annually at the Göttingen site, plus ENA1 pellets. The industrial packaging company manufactures pallets and crates in custom dimensions. Sales are exclusively to commercial businesses, in particular builders' merchants and timber traders.

Quality and certification
Holz-Henkel grades a large share of its self-produced goods according to the VEH grading rules and, since 2013, has been the first externally audited planing mill in Germany; the qualities are inspected annually by Holzforschung Austria. For raw material origin, PEFC™ and FSC® as well as the requirements of the EU Timber Regulation (EUTR) are met.
