About Holzindustrie Hassel
Holzindustrie Hassel GmbH is a family-owned company from Stockum-Püschen in the Westerwald region that has been processing wood since 1902. The sawmill cuts around 150,000 solid cubic metres of spruce softwood annually; two profiling lines produce sawn timber in cross-sections up to 36 cm wide and 14 m long – square lumber, planks, boards and laths made to order in the desired dimensions. From lot size 1, the company manufactures special sizes for downstream industrial processors, the construction and packaging sector, and the timber and building materials trade, including drying in its own kilns, treatment to IPPC/ISPM-15 and planing. Since 2023, an own pellet plant has complemented the portfolio: from fresh sawdust of the company's own sawmill, 40,000 tonnes of wood pellets of quality grade DIN A1+ are produced annually. The raw material is 100% utilised; an own biomass power plant supplies the drying facilities. The spruce comes predominantly from regional, PEFC- and FSC-certified forest management.
