About Holzwerk Strunz

Holzwerk Strunz is a German company specializing in the processing of tonewood for musical instrument making. The product range includes the custom manufacture of soundboards, ribs, rib wood and keyboards, which are supplied to renowned musical instrument manufacturers worldwide, in particular for the construction of grand and upright pianos. In the various production stages, inspected and selected woods are cut to the required dimensions, sorted by hand according to color and assembled into the finished product shape. Only finely grown spruce wood is used, since uniform annual rings are decisive for the sound of soundboards. After gluing and the customer-specific final sanding, in which different heights sometimes have to be achieved, a final inspection takes place before delivery. The manufacturing process of Strunz soundboards has been refined over centuries and is subject to a strict quality standard. Made in Germany since 1820.
