About Homanit
HOMANN HOLZWERKSTOFFE GmbH is the parent company of the Homanit Group, a German family business in its fourth generation with roots dating back to 1876. The company specializes in the production and distribution of thin, highly refined wood fiber boards (MDF/HDF, HOMADUR) with a thickness range of 1.5 to 22.0 mm. Production is carried out using the dry process: fiberized wood from thinnings and sawmill residues is mixed with E05 binders and pressed into boards in hot presses; the boards are then refined with water-based dispersion paints and AC-UV lacquers. The Group operates four HDF/MDF production sites in Losheim am See, Karlino and Krosno Odrzańskie (Poland) as well as Pagiriai (Lithuania), each with its own biomass power plants for heat generation from wood residues. Sales and development are coordinated centrally in Herzberg am Harz, supplemented by a sales company in France. Customers include furniture manufacturers operating worldwide as well as large and medium-sized companies from the door, coating, automotive and caravan industries in Western and Eastern Europe.
