HORO Hartmetallwerkzeuge Handelsgesellschaft mbH was founded in 1984 in Witten by Rolf Hollmann and was the first authorized dealer (Stützpunkthändler) of WIDIA in Germany. The company is a specialist in carbide tools and develops and designs CAD-supported custom-form cutting tools according to customer requirements, including double holders for pipe end machining, cassette milling cutters, angle milling cutters and parting-off holders. Worldwide, HORO is known as a supplier for heavy-duty machining in large-diameter pipe manufacturing: planing, milling and turning for weld seam preparation on spiral-welded pipes and longitudinally welded pipes, as well as pipe end machining for wall thicknesses of 6 to 60 mm and pipe diameters from 406.4 mm. In addition, HORO distributes cutting tools from the entire Kennametal (WIDIA, Stellram) program and, as a carbide specialist, supplies design components and wear parts made of carbide (tungsten carbide). Since 2002, following the acquisition of WIDIA by the Kennametal group, HORO has supplied customers from the Kennametal program. The quality management system has been certified since 1995.
