Horstmann Automation GmbH was founded in 2009 in Heek by former employees of Gebr. Effing Maschinenfabrik (ATG Systems) and continues their tradition in the field of intralogistics automation. The company develops, manufactures and installs automated storage and transport systems, including automatic double-girder overhead cranes (DTP/DTE), high-bay warehouses with stacker cranes, electrified monorail systems and automated guided vehicles (AGV). The portfolio is complemented by steel construction and crane structures from in-house production as well as retrofit solutions for controls and software of existing systems from ATG Systems, CTI, Roboto, MDC, Kaspar Walter and J. Bauer. Proprietary automation software such as Transport Manager (TM), Galvano and Engraving Server (GGS) and HMA Infocenter controls material flow, warehouse management and production lines, including interfaces to PPC/ERP systems such as SAP. The focus is on the transport and storage of gravure and flexographic printing cylinders and paper reels; particular expertise lies in handling piece goods without load carriers. Together with its sister company Horstmann Maschinenbau GmbH at the same location, the company has vertically integrated manufacturing and offers worldwide service, remote monitoring and maintenance of the installed systems.
