The Alte Nagelschmiede operates a hotel with restaurant in a historic half-timbered house on the Oberer Markt in Altdorf near Nuremberg. The restaurant kitchen is open Monday to Saturday from 11.30 to 20 Uhr and serves Franconian and Mediterranean specialities, including dishes from its own sausage manufactory, seasonal offerings such as carp season and game dishes, as well as vegetarian alternatives. The hosts, the Recknagel and Krist family, run the house. The hotel is located about 20 minutes from the Nuremberg exhibition centre and offers free in-house parking.
