Huber Fenster AG is an independent, medium-sized family company in its fifth generation, based in Herisau (AR), specialising in custom-made windows, exterior doors and individual facade elements. In its own production, the company manufactures wooden windows, wood-metal windows, lift-and-slide doors, post-and-beam facades, vertical sliders, pivot windows, turn-over-tilt windows and monument-preservation windows from woods such as oak, smoked oak, spruce, fir, larch, stone pine, walnut, chestnut, ash and reclaimed wood, partly combined with aluminium, brass or architectural bronze. Surface treatments include oiling, staining, painting and pickling for wood as well as anodising, powder coating, grinding and patinating for metal. Glass types processed include, among others, insulating glass, stepped glass, FLOAT, toughened glass (TVG), laminated safety glass (VSG), tempered safety glass (ESG), bird-protection and sound-insulation glass; single glazing up to 6.6 m × 2.6 m and 1,400 kg has been documented. Services include consulting, planning, manufacturing, installation as well as repair, maintenance and glass replacement (Huber Service, Huber Care). The products are offered throughout Switzerland, with a focus on the regions of Zurich, Basel, Engadin and Geneva; reference projects range from residential and school construction to monument preservation and public buildings.

Products such as wide, heavy plastering turn-over sashes are tested for stability at the factory before delivery; documents such as section drawings and certificates are made available by the company via the Hubothek.
