Huckfeldt & Thorlichen GmbH & Co. KG (HUKKI) is a family business founded in 1908, based in Tornesch on the outskirts of Hamburg, producing artificial casings and sausage casings for meat processing. The portfolio includes collagen casings with textile reinforcement (HUKKI Classic), high-performance artificial casings with reinforced textile fabric and collagen film (HUKKI VFX Performance), fibrous casings, multilayer plastic casings as well as net versions such as honeycomb netting, lacing netting, netted casing and elastic windings (Wickelkrause). Functional features include peeling aid and adhesion impregnations as well as a patented tear-open thread; the casings are supplied as bundles, reels, shirred sticks (Raupen), cut-to-size pieces, with clip & loop or as sewn-in-shape caps. Customers include the meat products industry, the butcher trade and producers of sliced products as well as vegan and vegetarian meat alternatives. The products are manufactured in Tornesch and distributed in more than 45 to 50 countries; since 2021 the company has been part of the christl group.
