About Hueck Folien
Hueck Folien GmbH is an independent Austrian family company headquartered in Baumgartenberg, Upper Austria, specializing in the coating of optically demanding functional films as well as high-security features for banknotes and documents. Since 2007, the company has focused on the development and production of security threads and security strips – including the Optomove® security strip with micro-mirror freeform elements – as well as film coatings for technical applications. Hueck Folien security solutions are used in around one third of the world's currencies, including the euro and the Swiss franc. The portfolio also includes self-adhesive label base materials (label facestock), premium lamination films and design coatings with properties such as scratch resistance, chemical resistance, soft touch, antiviral, anti-fingerprint and stainless-steel look, such as the VISCORA® product line. Products are developed and manufactured at the main Baumgartenberg site with around 300 employees and an R&D ratio of about 8 %; in November 2025, a new high-vacuum evaporation system was commissioned there. With the acquisition of WaveFront Technology LLC in Paramount (Los Angeles, USA) in 2026, the company is expanding its capacities to include optically qualified micro- and nanostructures. The products are used in more than 60 countries.
