Our Project

The Hutschn GbR manufactures wooden swings entirely by hand in its workshop in Bischofswiesen in the Berchtesgadener Land region. Each swing is made from a gently dried, regional oak block and gains its own unique character through the grain and quality of the wood. Production involves 15 careful work steps per piece; no glue, no additives and no chemicals are used. A special technique is the hand-crafted splicing of the ropes, in which the swing seat is connected to the ropes without knots – a splice which, according to the manufacturer, cannot be produced by machine. In addition to its product business, the company realizes curated projects, exhibitions and installations in the arts and creative sector. The HUTSCHN® project has been featured in exhibitions such as Homo Faber and the Munich Creative Business Week and was presented, among others, on the television program 'Die Sendung mit der Maus'.
