Engineering from Affalterbach
HWA AG is an independent engineering expert for high-performance vehicles, motorsport and complete vehicle development, headquartered in Affalterbach. Founded in 1998 by Hans Werner Aufrecht after AMG had been sold to DaimlerChrysler, the company took over the motorsport activities and parts of vehicle and component manufacturing. Its range of services covers complete vehicle development, engine and powertrain development, electronics development, homologation, prototype construction as well as small-series production with a capacity of 120–140 vehicles per year on 17,500 m². Road, racing and special vehicles are manufactured using a station-flow and manufactory approach, including CFRP processing, special paintwork and wrapping. Validation is carried out on engine and powertrain test benches as well as with a battery simulator. Through its HWA CARS division, the company also acts as an independent manufacturer of vehicles such as the HWA EVO. Customers come from motorsport, the automotive industry and customer racing.
