About Hydrel AG
Hydrel AG, headquartered in Romanshorn, Switzerland, specializes in the manufacture of demanding fine-blanked parts and assemblies. As a pioneering company, Hydrel has been advancing fine-blanking technology since the early 1960s and currently produces around 1 billion parts per year with part thicknesses up to 16 mm and a maximum 450 mm strip width. In the core fine-blanking process, highly precise series parts are produced with smooth (tear- and burr-free) cut surfaces, high flatness and tight dimensional, form and position tolerances; combined with cold forming, complex multifunctional parts are created. The service portfolio includes extensive downstream operations such as deburring, grinding, cleaning, machining, forming, coating and assembly, up to delivery of ready-to-install system components. Through partner companies (Alois Güntensperger AG, Wisi'on Tool AG, WBC Härterei AG), toolmaking, injection molds and heat treatment complement the manufacturing chain. Customers come from the automotive industry, industrial/electronics and medical technology.

Materials and Processes
Fine blanking (swiss fine cut)
Full-cut process for highly precise parts with tear- and burr-free cut surfaces, also suitable for gear teeth in medium to large series.
Cold forming
Operations integrated in the tool, such as bends, extrusions, draws and embossings, replace elaborate downstream operations.
Machining
Drilling, countersinking, reaming, milling, turning, lapping, honing and thread forming as downstream operations inhouse.
Grinding and Polishing
Surface grinding, double-disc grinding, cylindrical grinding and polishing for defined surfaces and flatness.
Injection molds and hybrid tools
Precision molds including multi-component, rotary-table, light-guide and assembly injection molding as well as punching/forming operations in the injection mold for metal-plastic hybrid parts.
Heat treatment (nitriding, vacuum hardening, protective gas)
MA nitriding with distortion under 3 µm per meter, vacuum hardening, strip furnace technology, as well as case hardening and carbonitriding for large series.
Printed circuit boards, filter fabrics, composite materials
Punching of the most difficult materials including printed circuit boards, filter fabrics and composite materials in progressive composite construction.
