About hydrogel-Chemie
For over 50 years, hydrogel-Chemie Wasseraufbereitungs-Gesellschaft mbH has been producing conditioning agents at its Werl site to protect water-carrying systems in the fields of cooling water, steam generation, district heating and drinking water. The portfolio ranges from standard and commodity products to plant-specific combination products; delivery is by tanker truck, IBC and drum through to 10-litre small containers. In plant engineering, the company designs and installs water treatment plants of every type and size, including softening, reverse osmosis, decarbonisation, demineralisation and electrodeionisation plants as well as vacuum degassing and membrane degassers. The offering is complemented by customised dosing technology, an on-site analysis service as well as water and solids testing in its own laboratory in Werl. A Technical Customer Service department handles maintenance, service and repair. Customers include breweries, paper mills, the food industry, industrial laundries, chipboard and concrete plants.

Processes and Plant Technology
Electrodeionisation
Electrochemical process for the most extensive removal of ions from water, with conductivities below 0.5 µS/cm.
Reverse osmosis
Single- and two-stage plants for the desalination of well water and process water.
Vacuum degassing/membrane degassers
Reduction of the CO2 content in water via hydrophobic hollow-fibre membranes using the counterflow principle.
Chlorine dioxide generation
Plants for the disinfection of service water up to water volumes of 4,500 m³/d.
Softening and filtration
Filter and softening plants for the removal of iron and manganese and the deacidification of well water.
Stainless steel
Material for storage tanks and plant engineering components.
