About Hydrovane
Hydrovane has been manufacturing self-steering windvane systems for sailing yachts since 1968. The system operates independently of the main steering system with its own auxiliary rudder and also serves as an emergency rudder or emergency steering system. According to the manufacturer, the systems fit a variety of cruising boats and can be installed off center. Production takes place at the company's own factory in the United Kingdom; all customer inquiries and orders worldwide are handled through the office in West Vancouver, Canada, from where product shipping is also coordinated. In addition to the Hydrovane system, the company distributes complementary products such as Watt&Sea hydrogenerators, ECHOTec watermakers and Parasailor sails. The system gained recognition, among other things, through Jean-Luc Van Den Heede's victory in the 2018 Golden Globe Race.
