About Icy-Medien GmbH / HiFi-Selbstbau

Icy-Medien GmbH, based in Cologne, operates the online shop HiFi-Selbstbau as well as the associated online magazine HiFi-Selbstbau. The offering is aimed at hobbyists and professional users in the field of DIY speaker building and includes speaker drivers from various manufacturers, audio measurement technology, electronics, software and specialist publications. In addition to trading, the company provides services such as individual microphone calibration at 0° and 0°+90° including a calibration file matched to the measurement software, as well as pairwise selection of speaker drivers based on its own measurement series for unit-to-unit variation. In the online magazine, measurement results, construction plans, simulation models and the measurement software JustOct are accessible to subscribers. In December 2024, Nick Baur, founder and managing director of BluePlanetAcoustic and Omnes Audio, passed away; the shop subsequently offers selected products from his range.
