IFAS – Ingenieurbüro für Abfallwirtschaft, Prof. R. Stegmann und Partner is an engineering services company that was spun off in 2000 as a partnership from the Institute of Waste Management at the Hamburg University of Technology (TUHH) and is based in Hamburg. The company offers services in the fields of waste, climate protection, contaminated sites and exhaust air, including studies, expert reports, planning and consulting, concept development, plant operation and monitoring, process optimisation and waste investigations with measurement and analytical support. Key focus areas are landfill aftercare and decommissioning, landfill gas collection, treatment and gas monitoring, landfill aeration / aerobic in situ stabilisation (AEROflott®), leachate collection and treatment, aftercare cost calculation, biological soil remediation as well as safety inspections of landfill and biogas plants pursuant to § 29a BImSchG. In addition to its own laboratory and field analysis (including gas chromatography), large projects are also carried out via a partner network under its own responsibility. Clients include Stadtreinigung Hamburg, AVG Köln, hanseWasser Bremen, Remondis Nord, the German Environment Agency (Umweltbundesamt) and the Hamburg Port Authority; projects have also been carried out in Malaysia and Russia.
