About IFEX

IFEX GmbH, based in Buchholz in der Nordheide, develops and manufactures portable impulse fire extinguishing systems for fast and effective firefighting. The IFEX impulse fire extinguishing system, developed in 1994, is considered a pioneer in the market: the extinguishing agent is fired at high velocity into the fire source within a very short time using 25 bar compressed air in the pressure chamber; a special membrane produces the finest droplets with a significantly larger cooling surface than conventional extinguishing methods. The systems operate independently of a continuous water supply and mostly work with just water and air. The product portfolio includes impulse extinguishing pistols, CAFS systems, backpack and trolley systems, hose reels, compressed air cylinders, rapid intervention units, and vehicle and tunnel fire extinguishing systems. All components are Made in Germany and tested by certified inspection bodies. Among the more than 25,000 users worldwide are police forces, the German Armed Forces (Bundeswehr), SEK special units, fire brigades, the AIDA fleet, Royal Caribbean International and hotel chains. The services range from inspection in accordance with the German Industrial Safety Ordinance (Betriebssicherheitsverordnung) to maintenance and repair through to training for civilian and military emergency personnel.
