About IFTA
IFTA Ingenieurbüro für Thermoakustik GmbH was founded in 1996 by Dr. Jakob Hermann, based on his doctoral thesis on the active suppression of vibrations in Siemens gas turbines. The company develops and manufactures hardware and software entirely in-house for the measurement, diagnosis, monitoring, protection, and control of vibrations in combustion systems and rotating machines—from large engines and compressors to gas and steam turbines. The modular product portfolio includes the ArgusOMDS, DynaMaster, SmartProtect, and AIC measurement systems for active damping, as well as a streamlined high-temperature measurement chain with sensors, charge amplifiers, charge generators, IEPE power supply, and laser tachometers. The offering is complemented by services such as vibration diagnostics, on-site field measurements, damage analysis, factory calibration, remote service, commissioning, and training. Own test benches (burner, bearing, gearbox, and rotor kit test benches) are used for testing and validating the systems. ArgusOMDS systems are part of the Siemens Energy standard for gas turbines of types 4000F, 8000H, and 9000HL.
