About IGK
IGK Isolierglasklebstoffe GmbH was founded in 1988 by the chemist Dr. Michael Vollrath-Rödiger and is a medium-sized company headquartered in Hasselroth near Frankfurt am Main. The company develops and produces adhesives and sealants for multi-pane insulating glass manufacturing: mercury-free two-component polyurethanes (IGK 130), polysulfide secondary sealants (IGK 311, IGK 330), butyl primary sealants based on polyisobutylene (IGK 511, IGK 511 HT), hotmelt and reactive hotmelt systems as well as thermoplastic spacers, including special products for fire-resistant glazing (IGK 611 FH). The portfolio is complemented by service products such as cleaning agents, lubricants, thermal cleaner and an adhesion test device. As early as 2001, IGK brought the first mercury-free polyurethane to market, long before the EU ban on mercury-containing catalysts from 2017, and is today the European market leader in PU-based secondary sealants. Production takes place exclusively in Germany at the main Hasselroth site, where research and development as well as sales are also located; most recently, two new tanks and silos were built and production processes were largely automated. Through its subsidiary IGK North America Inc. in Wilmington, Delaware, as well as representatives in Europe, North America and Asia, IGK supplies customers worldwide.

Materials and Processes
Mercury-free 2K polyurethane
Solvent-free secondary sealant (IGK 130) with high flexibility, adhesion strength and low water vapour and gas permeability.
Polysulfide (2K)
Solvent-free secondary sealants (IGK 311, IGK 330) with a low diffusion rate and adhesion to glass, aluminium, steel and plastic.
Polyisobutylene / butyl
Thermoplastic, one-component primary sealant (IGK 511) suitable for all common spacers made of metal, plastic or foam.
Thermoplastic spacer (PIB-based)
Extruded spacers including a reactive variant and a version for fire-resistant glazing.
Hotmelt / reactive hotmelt
Thermoplastic sealants for the secondary sealing of insulating glass.
