IHO Verwaltungs GmbH, based in Herzogenaurach, is the strategic holding company in which the holding and management activities of the IHO Group are consolidated. The company's purpose is to act as a holding company, in particular the acquisition and management of shareholdings — including in partnerships — as well as the provision of related services, in particular management services. The operating business of the IHO Group is conducted by the corporate groups Schaeffler, Continental, Aumovio and Atesteo; the IHO Group holds 79% of the voting rights in Schaeffler AG as well as 46% each of the shares in Continental AG and Aumovio SE. The company was founded in 2009 and was initially named Schaeffler GmbH and later Schaeffler Verwaltung Zwei GmbH, before being renamed IHO Verwaltungs GmbH in 2016. As an issuer, it places bonds on the international capital market, most recently a 6,750% EUR bond 2029 with a volume of €800 million. The company acts as the capital market and communications platform of the family shareholders and is not a manufacturing company.
